Shadow to Light: Musical Journey

From Silence to Vibrational Communion

From Silence to Vibrational Communion

Dear friends-listeners,

Since September 5, 2025, the day I was unable to pick up Valentin from his mother, I have been living through a separation that has unjustly lasted 45 days. Every moment reminds me of the forced distance and the injustice of this situation. Yesterday, October 18, 2025, I had to file a fourth complaint for parental child abduction.

Time feels endless, and each day tests my patience. Yet, I continue to navigate these weeks with the awareness of staying faithful to the love for my two sons, refusing to let absence erase this bond.

Unfortunately, this situation echoes what Dylan, Valentin, and I already had to endure in 2020 in an unjust and defamatory manner, highlighting the importance of remaining grounded and luminous, and of transforming waiting and pain into inner energy, meditation, and active faith.

With all my gratitude and light,
Laurent Schieber – Sequentia Legenda

TIMELESS by Sequentia Legenda

The Vibrant Heart: ALNITAK, MINTAKA, and TIMELESS
Bridging Heart and Spirit Through Music

And then, yesterday, Saturday, October 18, 2025, something incredible happened!

As I let the sounds float and literally arrive within me, ALNITAK, the third track of the album MINTAKA planned for 2026, took shape with a creative fluidity I had never experienced before. The notes flowed effortlessly, with a clarity and harmony that seemed guided by an external force. Every measure, every resonance crossed my body and mind, unleashing a torrent of emotions, tears, and joy.

✨ MINTAKA – the unmistakable sign

The same thing happened a few days earlier! MINTAKA itself unfolded with astonishing clarity—29 minutes and 35 seconds of music, almost born in a single breath, in just two to three days, without my really touching the keyboards… This is no mere surge of inspiration: it is a rare vibrational alignment, almost supernatural in its precision and speed. The music passes through me and takes form as if it already exists, ready to be channeled.

The fact that this track is the flagship of the 2026 album is no coincidence. My Guidance opened a luminous corridor, and I simply followed without resistance. This creative flow linked, like an invisible bridge, to the very recent release of TIMELESS on Cyclical Dreams. The heartfelt responses, the words of Marek Manowski, Pablo Bilbao, Michael Scanlon, Michael Brückner, and other listeners, amplified this inner current, as if the Universe were opening doors and sending signs into my life as a father, in my daily struggles, and in my creation.

MINTAKA and ALNITAK are no longer just compositions: they become soul-to-soul language, a channel where pain, love, light, and hope intersect. Invisible, discreet yet attentive presences seem to watch over us, guiding without intrusion, only through vibration. Perhaps Klaus, perhaps Valentin, perhaps other benevolent forces…

What I experience is not “despite” the pain or struggles for my sons…

👉 It is in part because of it. Suffering, perseverance, fatherly love, and fidelity to my mission create a breach through which light comes to support me. Music compensates, sustains, elevates, and heals, offering a sacred space of oxygen.

Each note becomes resonance, breath, and light, transforming absence into creative energy and forced distance into a vibrational bridge between me and my sons. What I compose here may touch a new vibrational level, a moment where the work surpasses the one who carries it, and where each vibration connects to Guidance and the invisible forces that watch over us.

Marek Manowski about TIMELESS : "The entire album is highly reflective and meditative. Autumn, which is just unfolding its beautiful landscapes, harmonizes perfectly with this beautiful music, especially its final movement. The whole creates a cohesive whole, filled with sequential garlands of sounds and spatial soundscapes. Following the composer's intention, we enter successive realms of now extraterrestrial spaces, completely detaching ourselves from the earth. I've known the composer's music for a long time. And here we have an example of the consistency of the path he has been following for centuries. The first two movements are a perfect example, proving that the Berlin School is still in its prime. I am particularly captivated by the final movement, "Timeless Ethereal Light," somewhat choral, full of meditative depth, peace, and fulfillment. Perfect music for the troubled times we live in.”

A RAY OF LIGHT by Sequentia Legenda Berlin School music

THE HUMAN REALITY OF A FATHER
AND MUSICAL TRANSMUTATION
Bridging Heart and Spirit Through Music

This separation is not a mere obstacle; it is a daily struggle for love and presence. Every day, I must remain strong, despite fatigue and frustration, despite apparent injustice. Yet even amid the ordeal, I feel that love does not falter, that the bond with my children remains intact, even when it is invisible.

Zen, novenas, and music are my allies. They allow my heart to keep beating, to transmit, to vibrate, even in physical absence. Every note, every breath, every meditation becomes a guiding thread, linking my here and now to a wider elsewhere, a space of light and guidance.

I do not know when this separation will end, nor how balance will be restored. But what I know is that light exists, even in the darkest zones. Music then becomes a weapon of love and peace, a silent force that crosses pain and transforms each moment into vibration.

Within this flow, in these notes and invisible presences, I find the strength to believe, to create, and to love fully, despite everything, with gratitude and wonder.

This is precisely what I share with listeners: this divine transmutation, this light that transforms pain into strength, and imposed silence into vibrational communion, a bridge between a father’s heart and a child’s soul, between matter and ether, between the visible and the invisible.

During our last conversation, Michael Scanlon made a very specific request: “Laurent, could you one day put together a clear chronology of your discography? I believe it would be valuable for us listeners, to follow the evolution of your universe.”

I found this suggestion both thoughtful and relevant, and I am grateful for it. May these milestones serve as a guide for those who wish to journey through my sounds — step by step, album after album.

Portrait of Sequentia Legenda – Beyond the heritage of the Berlin School

Portrait of Sequentia Legenda – Beyond the heritage of the Berlin School
Portrait by Christophe Bargeault
originally produced for Patch Work Music

Sequentia Legenda Berlin School music

Christophe Bargeault interview Sequentia Legenda
Music, benevolence and spirituality

This portrait is dedicated to Sequentia Legenda who offered us just before the summer their latest opus RESONANCES. Beyond the legacy of the Berlin School genre that he has received and that he is passing on in turn, Laurent Schieber was kind enough to share with us a few moments of kindness and spirituality.

Christophe Bargeault: "Laurent, after having taken us beyond the stars, then to a celestial universe, you offer us a new album where everyone will find a way to enter in resonance with the universe. Can you tell us how RESONANCES was born and do you consider it as a follow-up to BEYOND THE STARS and "CELESTIAL"?

Sequentia Legenda: "Since BLUE DREAM, I think I can say that each album that has come out is a sequel in itself, an evolution of my musical vision. I can also happily say that with this latest album my music has just ascended towards ever more spiritual vibrations. RESONANCES is for me a pivotal album for several reasons. The birth of RESONANCES happened instinctively, naturally, with the help of a – guidance – that allowed me to bring to light the channeled message and all the emotions that went through me. I thank this divine chance which was granted to me, I am proud and happy to be able to share with the listeners joy, dreams and well-being. RESONANCES is also a highlight of my convictions for a better, fairer and brighter world. This album is the affirmation of my work on the side of Light, Love and Hope. RESONANCES is the direct announcement of ALCYONE which will be my next album for 2023."

Christophe Bargeault interview Sequentia Legenda
Musical universe in perpetual resonance

Christophe Bargeault: "RESONANCES is offered to us using a process that uses the frequency 432 Hz. Can you explain this choice?"

Sequentia Legenda: "I wanted to work on my three compositions in the frequency of 432 Hz which is in harmony with the heart, nature and the universe. I wanted to offer listeners an even more spiritual approach to music and propose three vibratory universes that would allow for a resonance, a connection with one's own inner symphony."

Christophe Bargeault: "Spirituality is very much a part of your musical universe. In fact, you have presented RESONANCES as an album of "great spirituality at the service of the listener". We also find many references to spirituality in your discography (Beyond from beyond, Fly over me, Elevation, Luminosa veritas, Celestial, Heavenly resonance). This spirituality seems to be an important part of your life. How does it play a part in your compositional process?"

Sequentia Legenda: "Spirituality is part of my evolution, it has always been present in me, around me. It accompanies me, guides me through my intuitions, makes me move forward and grow. It is the same for my musical adventure that I have the happiness to live, which evolves, transmutes little by little to become always a little more spiritual. There is always a sign, if I may say so, an energy that will propel me towards the keyboards. It's magnetic, it's magical. When I compose, I feel things from the inside, the vibrations crystallize, I let them impregnate me, and then I put them to music. It's the heart that speaks before anything else! Thanks to this spirituality and to listening to it, the process of creation is a real guidance, a journey out of time, an inexhaustible source of energy and love. I am delighted to be able to share what I receive, with passion and sincerity. This is my way of working alongside the Light."

Christophe Bargeault: "The first notes of RESONANCES were released on your Youtube channel in the summer of 2021. What steps did you take to get to this finalized album? Do the comments left by internet users have an impact on your creative process?"

Sequentia Legenda: "It is interesting for me to hear the feelings of the listeners. Reading the comments is also a source of motivation and inspiration. I am often reminded of one such comment. One listener wrote to me that his toothache had almost disappeared after listening to my music. In the same vein, I was pleased to read that my music was a medicine. What more can I say? If not the most beautiful gift, a beautiful reward, which I fully savour. It is a delight to be able to share a source of happiness and serenity – Gratitude. After having put some extracts online, I continued the composition work, mainly concerning the third title. It was important to me to bring the three sound worlds together. Then, I proceeded to adjustments and optimizations, in order to highlight certain parts, while keeping in focus, the colour, the atmosphere and the global warmth that I wanted to offer to this album. The mastering phase was the last step. I like to add that final specific patina, that varnish conducive to sonic unison."

Christophe Bargeault: "Of all the comments that can be found about your music, most agree that you have a signature that you have a signature sound of your own. How would you describe what characterise the Sequentia Legenda sound?"

Sequentia Legenda: "I am happy and honoured to hear about a Sequentia Legenda signature, it is a great reward. I would say without hesitation that this signature is channelled directly from the depths of my being. And, above all, it is with my heart and my soul that the Sequentia Legenda sound is truly built. As for the technical part, it is a balancing act between creativity and rigour that must be established. I obviously have my reference points, my automatisms, I use the sequencers a bit like a sculptor, in order to make the different loops cohabit. Sound research is essential and sometimes it can be time consuming. I am demanding and I pay a lot of attention to the sound grain, so that it is rich, coherent and reflects my musical vision. However, the notion of freedom remains paramount. This is how this sound will be able to evolve again and again. I won't dwell on the technical aspect, because in my opinion, it's the emotional part that prevails. It is a sincere sharing with the listeners and I believe that it is precisely this sincerity that is the main characteristic of the Sequentia Legenda sound."

Christophe Bargeault: "Your approach reminds me of Klaus Schulze, who used to explain in his interviews that he started a new album by looking for new sounds, like a to begin a new album by searching for new sounds, like a sculptor who goes to look for his raw material like a sculptor who goes looking for his raw material before working on it and giving it life. Do you share this initial phase or are the sounds and melodic ideas born first of all according to the emotions you want to create? according to the emotions you want to create?"

Sequentia Legenda: "After a certain period of time, there is a real call to the keyboards, so to speak. This is the signal. Then the phase of discovery begins, of research in every respect. It's a special moment, something unique, highly emotional too. There's no real rule, either it's a particular sound that will be a trigger, or a sequencer line that will propel me, or the atmosphere of a string section that will make me take off. It's really all about my emotional state, my sensitivity and my level of awareness and reception. Each time it is a new beginning, a thrilling creative birth."

Christophe Bargeault:
"Speaking of Klaus Schulze, you paid tribute to him in May in the special issue of PWM Calepins. Would you say that, without him, your musical path would have been different?"

Sequentia Legenda: "I would like to say that without him my musical journey would not have been possible. In my eyes, chance doesn't really exist, I prefer to talk about synchronicities. It was in my parents' vinyl collection that I discovered a cover that literally attracted me – like a magnet – that of the album MIRAGE, illustrated with a stylised portrait of Klaus Schulze. It was literally explosive for me, for my ears, for my whole body! From the very first time I listened to it, something happened to me that was to become my musical trigger! Thank you mother, because it was she who, after a concert of Klaus in Mulhouse, had bought Mirage, this fantastic album. A cover, a piece of music, an artist and my life was turned upside down."

Christophe Bargeault: "Just as with Mirage, the cover is often the first contact with an album, an artist, or a artist. Your choice of covers is always careful. They are always evocative of the feeling the feeling that accompanies each of your albums."

Sequentia Legenda: "Indeed, in my eyes, the cover is important and I attach a lot of time and care to it. For me, music and image are one and the same."

Christophe Bargeault: "You show gratitude and in return your audience always responds to every new song or album you release. new song or album you release. Your previous releases have even been nominated for at the Schallwelle Awards, which is a great reward."

Sequentia Legenda: "I must admit that I am always delighted by the public's reception of a new album. It's pure happiness, a balm to the heart. As far as the nominations for the Schallwelle Awards are concerned, it is always a great joy to be able to go there and actively participate in this beautiful musical and family celebration. The Schallwelle Awards is ultimately a big family of musicians and listeners who get together to vibrate in communion. Indeed, it is a beautiful reward. I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Sylvia Sommerfeld, who was instrumental in creating the Schallwelle Award and who unfortunately passed away at the end of 2021. I had the pleasure of being welcomed by Sylvia, with the great kindness that characterised her. Overall, I must say that the welcome and the fervour shown towards my music touched me a lot, it is a beautiful reward, a beautiful adventure. The Berlin School "made in France" defends itself rather well I think. But I admit that it's still very complicated to win an award in Germany against German musicians and bands... But I'm already happy to be able to appear at the Schallwelle in the land of the Berliner Schule and who knows, maybe one day Sequentia Legenda will be among the first three."

Christophe Bargeault: "In this musical universe in perpetual resonance, are there any artists that you follow you follow?"

Sequentia Legenda: "I admit that I certainly don't listen enough to what other artists are doing now. I still stick to the classics. Without wanting to make excuses, it is perhaps also due to a lack of time. Between my two sons, my professional activity, the solo management of daily tasks and the management of everything revolving around my music, there is not much time left. I mainly listen to Klaus Schulze, sometimes also to Tangerine Dream and from time to time to some current musicians like Kurz Mindfields, Michael Brückner or Awenson to name a few. I also like to listen to classical music and jazz. Compared to electronic music and the Berlin School in particular, the Berlin School "made in France" brings an additional nuance to this movement. For me, music is a sign of Hope, Freedom and Love. I am certain that the Berlin School will remain a music that is conducive to dreams. Of course, it is a musical niche, but it is for this movement that my heart beats and as long as I still have something to express, to share, it alone will be my refuge."

Christophe Bargeault: "The final word."

Sequentia Legenda: "It was a great pleasure for me to take part in this interview, thanks to you Christophe for this initiative and to Patch Work Music. I hope that the listeners and readers will take as much pleasure in reading it."

The 432 Hz Berlin School Box

The 432 Hz Berlin School Box by Sequentia Legenda
ULTIMATE EDITION REVISITED BY SEQUENTIA LEGENDA

This double album contains 5 tracks from my discography, revisited and tuned to the 432 Hz. This project has been maturing since the beginning of this year, it is in September that it really took shape, to finally become a real challenge in November following the death of my Mom. I really wanted to put my compositions in unison with this warm and natural frequency, favourable to introspection, escape and elevation. It is part of my musical vision, that of a deep and harmonious sharing with the public.

For this project, I had the pleasure to be able to count on a collaboration from Switzerland in the person of Nicolas Picciotto who took care of remixing and remastering two of my compositions.

The 432 Hz Berlin School Box : A Heart to Heart Sharing

VIOLINS DON'T GROW ON TREES
The life and work of Klaus Schulze

Well, what can you write about your own work. It's great, you absolutely have to read it!

Why? Because it's a book for everyone who cares about Klaus Schulze. If you have only superficially dealt with Klaus Schulze and his music so far, you will find everything that could interest you in this book, from Klaus' first school band to his announced early retirement, every album, every piece is illuminated, described and put into context. And even the KS fan who thinks he already knows everything is presented with all this knowledge in an amusing and informative way, and he will realise that he by no means knew everything after all. I don't want to give too much away.

I can only say that I worked on the book for over five years, studied hundreds of interviews and articles and talked to countless companions and colleagues of Klaus. And when even Klaus' friends and family tell me that they like the book hey, what more could you want!

Stay healthy - Klaus' music will help you,
Olaf Lux

I DON'T WANT TO GIVE TOO MUCH AWAY
I worked on the book for over five years

Well, in the 50 years I've been walking around here, I've been a lot of things: class clown, break dancer, bank clerk, writer, boogie dancer, actor, ninja, journalist, filmmaker, belly dancer, lifeguard, music lover, marathon runner, dwarf, Japanese teacher, rapper ...

Through my big brother
I got to know music – good music: Pink Floyd, Genesis, Alan Parsons, Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre and ... Klaus Schulze. However, it took me over 20 years to realise that my purpose in life is Klaus Schulze. 10 years ago I founded the Klaus Schulze Forum, and it was only logical that at some point I felt called to write a book about Klaus ... THE book about Klaus. It took over 5 years until I was satisfied enough to publish it. Now it is available for everyone. And it has turned out well. A really good book. THE book about Klaus Schulze.

Oh, yes ... I am also very modest ;-)

BEYOND THE STARS by Sequentia Legenda

BEYOND THE STARS IS COSMIC SPACEROCK – BASTA
No more and no less

Whenever the greats of electronic music get upset about why their music is described as "cosmic" or "spacerock" or something similar, I think to myself "Then why do you call your pieces "Comet Melody", "Alpha Centauri" or "Stardancer"?
It's its own fault.

I love the clear confession of Laurent Schieber aka Sequentia Legenda.
BEYOND THE STARS is cosmic spacerock – basta. No more and no less.

That's what the album title says, that's what the wonderful star-flooded cover says, that's what title names like "Float Among The Stars" say, and that's what the dedication of the artist says, who wants to touch not only the listener but also the sky with his music.

The almost half-hour main piece "EXPERIMENTAL" is not by chance reminiscent of Klaus Schulze's hypnotic soundscapes, with none other than Tommy Betzler drumming the driving rhythm. Tommy, who has already been on stage for and with Klaus Schulze, and who has now come out of his early musical retirement to give new artists like Michael Brückner or Laurent Schieber a rhythmic backbone. When the mellotron choirs then kick in, the spirit begins to float as if by itself and you can almost feel the Timewind on your skin. "EXPERIMENTAL" – for me the highlight of the album.

"FLOAT AMONG THE STARS", on the other hand, captivates you from the first moment with a clear-as-a-bell sequence, you can literally hear the stars whizzing by, and when the sequence finally dies down, you realise that you have now actually left the galaxy, that you have actually landed beyond the stars. Fascinating and terrifying at the same time...

But not as stirring as "BEYOND FROM THE BEYOND". What is beyond the void? What was before the beginning of time? Where do we come from, where are we going? ... All these questions echo in the eternally circling sounds and chords that glide through our fingers like water - just like the answers to the existential questions. We may be able to feel them, but we cannot hold them ... they are beyond the stars ...

A video retrospective of my six years on the Berlin School stage

My 8 physical albums are for the occasion presented in a video with the association of Corina Chirila's pictorial works. I am delighted to have been able to share during these first six years my sound universes, my own musical vision and thus offer a part of dream and escape to the listeners.

We ALL need music, even more nowadays.
For me music remains a vector of Hope and Love.

Long live music, long live the Berlin School!

Laurent Schieber (Sequentia Legenda)
🎹😘🎹

The musician released his debut album: "BLUE DREAM" in December 2014. Other albums have been nominated for the Schallwelle Awards, the German electronic music prize. His discography currently consists of 6 digital and CD/Cdr albums, a double album "EXTENDED" and two albums in digital version.

BLUE DREAM
BEGINNING OF MY MUSICAL ADVENTURE

Adrian Bancu: "Who is Sequentia Legenda? Tell us a little about yourself."
SL: "I am a French synthesist, who shares with sensitivity, sincerity and passion, his own vision of the Berlin School. I am happy to be able to offer a part of dream, a bit of escape to the listeners. For me, music remains a vector of Hope and Love."

Adrian Bancu: "How is your first steps, approach to the music?"
SL: "It was in 1980, when I was 15 years old, that everything really started with the discovery of Klaus Schulze's music. The album "Mirage" was for me a real trigger, my musical trigger! I then went through several stages, first with analog synthesizers, then with digital instruments and it is thus recently with virtual instruments that I brought my musical work to light with BLUE DREAM my first album released in 2014."

BLUE DREAM

Sequentia Legenda Berlin School music

MY MUSIC
IS AN INVITATION TO DREAM

Adrian Bancu: "How you define your music?" TEST
SL: "My music is an invitation to dream, an immersive journey, an introspection, a cosmic journey. My sound universes are composed of loops of sequencers in constant evolution accompanied by layers and choruses and sometimes percussion. Among these elements, melodic lines are punctually added. It is a music that allows you to get out and forget this tumultuous daily life, where everything has to go fast, much too fast! It is through the overall atmosphere and all its subtleties that one can perceive all my sensitivity."

Adrian Bancu: "What musicians or groups formed you as a musician?"
SL: "In the domain of electronic music, my influences tend towards Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Jean-Michel Jarre and of course the one who will always remain my mentor: Klaus Schulze. I have a deep respect for the founding members of the Berlin School and I deeply regret the passing of Edgar Froese."

Adrian Bancu: "What genre of music you listen, especially?"
SL: "I still listen to the great classics of Klaus Schulze or Tangerine Dream, if not more generally classical music or jazz. As a music lover, I appreciate U2, Pink Floyd, Tears For Fears, Talk Talk, Depeche Mode or Marillion."

REVIEWS & INTERVIEWS

Sequentia Legenda Berlin School music

IN MY HOME STUDIO
I'M IN MY BUBBLE

Adrian Bancu: "Could you describe how you record in your studio?"
SL: "In my home studio, I'm in my bubble and time doesn't really have a grip on me anymore. The big difficulty is to end a composition session. I have my habits, my points of reference, my particularities. I work with virtual synthesizers, like those in Arturia's collection."

Adrian Bancu: "Do you prefere a jam in your live set or is everything sharply programmed?"
SL: "When a concert is in sight, I start my rehearsals a few days before the concert. It is necessary for me to give myself as much security as possible and rehearsals are part of this. My tracks consist of a pre-programmed part and other tracks are available for live performance. I now know that each stage performance will be unique and that nothing is predictable. It's a new experience every time. The contact with the audience is a privilege, a richness."

VALENTINS TRAUM
DEDICATED TO MY AUTISTIC SON

Adrian Bancu: "Three facts that affected your life, deeply?"
SL: "The birth of my two sons Valentin and Dylan. The death of my first wife Nathalie."

Adrian Bancu: "I am sorry for that. Life have unexpected ways to test us in all kind of emotions."
SL: "Thank you. Fortunately, life offers us good moments that we must then know how to seize them and make the most of them. I'm working on me, on this aspect. I have my two suns (Valentin and Dylan) by my side and I stay strong and straight for my two sons!"

Adrian Bancu: "How do you elaborate your compositions?"
SL: "The beginning of a new opus is an important moment, it is each time unique and particular. It is a new story that is written, that develops with sensitivity, meticulousness and passion. I always leave myself a little time between two albums, until, when the time comes, I feel this strong and characteristic attraction that will push me in front of my keyboards and allow me to release my creative impulses. I don't really have any clear rules when I'm in the creative and experimental phase, however, I have to admit that the sequencer plays a primordial role and it remains my favourite tool."

Adrian Bancu: "What kind of landscapes inspire you the best?"
SL: "I will say landscapes from my imagination and also those coming from fantastic worlds, places conducive to dreams. I like science-fiction worlds, legendary worlds, space, mysticism as well."

MY MUSIC COMES
FROM MY HEART, FROM MY SOUL

Adrian Bancu: "What is your vision of the future of our civilization?"
SL: "I'm worried about the future of my two sons, to be honest. One of them, Valentin, is a young and adorable autistic boy and I hope that he will be able to develop and find sufficient independence. I don't think the world will be able to stay as it is today. I hope for a change, but I hope that it will be as gentle and as favourable as possible for all of us on this earth. I still believe in Love and Hope, despite the trials of life."

Adrian Bancu: "What is the space for you?"
SL: "The BLUE! The whole range of blue. Escape, a source of inspiration and serenity."

Adrian Bancu: "What mesages you spread with your music?"
SL: "My music comes from my heart, from my soul. It is a sharing of emotions with the listeners. And if I can make my own contribution to this beautiful musical movement that is the Berlin School, then I will have succeeded in my bet and I will have had the privilege of being able to live my dream."
